Driven by passion to innovate and to enhance the overall customer experience, his roles were pivotal to business growth and longer term strategic aims.

As head of BW’s automotive consultancy, Richard brings an industry focus to consultancy, looking at it from a broader perspective. The consultancy offers experts you can trust with highly focused expertise aligned to BW’s core services, to deliver local bespoke programmes that in turn helps you manage uncertainty, create value and drive a sustainable business.

Richard’s utilisation of financial, strategic and risk competencies continues to prove invaluable when applying experiential and commercial knowledge to the creativity of the consulting world.

Significant experience:

Throughout his career, Richard has worked both in-house - public and private sector and in consulting. During his time in financial services, Richard supported the TSB Bank floatation and undertook key positions in the Lloyds/HBOS merger and the transformation of its underlying businesses during the financial crisis.

He has developed and implemented industry firsts in:

  • asset backed lending customer analytics
  • risk model governance and provisioning
  • automotive manufacturer benchmarking, leading to greater customer transparency
  • shaping the risk function for one of the largest UK banking divestments in history
  • managing credit portfolios with over 90% UK market concentration risk.

Other expertise:

Richard regularly challenges the traditional ways of risk and financial management and is always researching and developing a smarter way for clients to gain more benefit from their enterprise risk frameworks. An avid fan of new technology, he utilises his experience to adapt risk tools to support a greater client experience, by removing the ambiguity, which so often leads to the decommissioning of risk in organisations.

He has also previously held roles in accounting and audit with Grant Thornton and strategy with Lloyds Banking Group.
