Schemes are required to have an effective system of governance (ESOG) which is proportionate to their circumstances. The Pensions Regulator sets out its expectations in relation to both ESOGs and Own Risk Assessments (ORAs) in its General code of practice (the General Code).

We can help you with all aspects of your journey towards compliance with the General Code, including your ORA. We have developed engaging tools and resources which have been used successfully by many trustees.

Next steps with the General Code

Whether you have already completed initial assessments or are starting the work now, this webinar – now available to watch on-demand – will take you through the next steps on your journey towards compliance with the General Code.

What should you do now?

If you have not already done so, we suggest you review your existing arrangements against the General Code to establish where your gaps are.

This governance framework review will help you to work out which policies and procedures you need to review, or to put in place, to reflect the governance requirements. It will also allow you to document where you are taking a proportionate approach to the General Code.

How we can help

We’ve helped many schemes complete their initial review and worked with them to create a bespoke and flexible action plan for the coming months/years. We can also perform an independent review of your governance systems to inform your ORA.

The links below provide information about some of the specific services we provide, as well as relevant insights. If you would like to find out how we can help you to improve or review your governance arrangements to ensure they are effective, please contact our team below.
