From small beginnings with just 20 people, our total headcount is now over 1,000 (including 70 partners and 121 associates) – with offices in eight locations around the UK. We act for a wide range of clients, large and small, in both the private and public sectors including 15% of FTSE350 firms with a DB scheme.
We continue to grow through referrals from professional contacts and our existing clients. Our primary focus is to continue to provide the personal, quality, tailored approach that has made us successful and has led to our high level of client retention. We seek to build stable and long-term working relationships with clients, supported by our low staff turnover.
We take great pride that each client is the responsibility of a partner who builds a team dedicated to meeting that client’s particular needs. The partner maintains a close, personal involvement at all levels of work.
Pragmatic advice, prompt responses and fast turnaround times are just some of the characteristics of the Barnett Waddingham personal, quality service and we do not believe that there is a ‘one-size-fits-all’ solution. Our teams are structured to meet the particular needs of each client and the service is tailored accordingly. Our clients know who their team members are and that they are dealing with all aspects of their work – whether it’s setting up a new pension scheme, preparing annual accounts or day-to-day administration.
“Once in a while you come across a professional service firm that operates in a rather superior way - it’s hard to put your finger on it, but you know it when you see it. Barnett Waddingham is such a firm.”Jonathan Duck, CEO
Amtico International Limited
Often, our most difficult work is to bring clarity and understanding to complex technical issues. To achieve this, whenever possible, we avoid using jargon so that our clients can make decisions on an informed basis and they understand the issues that are most important to their specific circumstances. If advice is needed we will give it in plain, easy to understand language.
Sound advice is clearly important to us – but so is the delivery. Our service is based on agreeing deadlines and sticking to them. We also ensure our fees are competitive and therefore do not come as a surprise.
Our business is about people and we are exceptionally proud of our loyal staff who are committed to delivering an efficient and effective client service. People who join Barnett Waddingham tend to stay, thriving in a professional learning environment and caring, friendly culture. Our structure and style encourage loyalty and commitment.
Barnett Waddingham’s flat organisational structure also ensures short communication lines and quick decisions. Our employees have a depth of expertise and a breadth of administrative skills, supported by the latest technology that allows us to tackle a wide range of work – from advising small clients to dealing with large pension schemes and employers.
Clients benefit from an efficient, team-based approach – where each individual feels a sense of accountability and responsibility – and employees have a real sense of involvement in client affairs.
