Associate and Senior Consulting Actuary

Ji-Hyang provides advice and support to UK pension schemes and trustees for a wide range of industries.  She provides actuarial and consultancy advice on a broad range of issues to help clients understand and manage their pension scheme risks as effectively as possible.  Her experience covers clients ranging in size from less than £10m to around £500m. 

Her primary role is to provide Scheme Actuary support for a number of schemes, where she takes a lead role in managing the consultancy relationship.  She also advises on corporate accounting numbers including FRS102 and IAS19.

Significant experience:

  • supporting the delivery of all scheme actuary services to a large number of defined benefit (DB) schemes, including bespoke analysis for negotiations with employers around contingent assets, contributions and secondary funding targets
  • risk management advice to trustees and sponsoring employers, including scheme closure to accrual and liability management exercises
  • guidance to trustees during corporate restructuring exercises and sponsoring employer wind-up
  • management of PPF levies for clients through a variety of methods, including putting in place parental guarantees and working with sponsoring employers to improve their insolvency risk rating
  • provision of corporate accounting disclosures for sponsoring employers.
