Our Fiduciary Management (FM) Evaluation team topped off twelve months of empowering clients, ground-breaking research and AI-supported innovation by collecting the 'Fiduciary Evaluator of the Year' award at the 2024 UK Pensions Awards.

Hosted by Professional Pensions, the UK Pensions Awards shine a light on excellence and recognises the advisers who offer the highest level of innovation, performance and service to UK pension schemes and their members. The award was recieved by Investment Partner Sonia Kataora, pictured below.

The award spotlights our team's major contributions to the FM evaluation market, spearheaded by our dedication to making valuable contributions to our clients’ investment arrangements.

Much of our work with clients over the last year was built on what is believed to be the largest Liability Driven Investing (LDI) research exercise to be carried out across the FM market.  Through this, we have supported enhancements for clients and managers alike.

Our team have also been instrumental in the adoption of technology to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of decision-making, helping clients to set investment beliefs and shortlist providers. This includes our proprietary FM Match interactive consulting tool, as well as the BW Swarm AI interactive platform, designed to manage human behavioural factors and biases to leverage the power of group-based decision-making.

Speaking on the win, Head of FM Evaluation Peter Daniels said: "I’m delighted that the team have been recognised for our outstanding contributions this year."

"Our investment in developing a top-tier independent oversight service – built on rigorous research, clear reporting, and advanced technology – has empowered our clients with enhanced investment strategies and, in some cases, successful transfer of pension scheme liabilities. I’m personally very proud of the impact we have made, and will no doubt continue to make."
Peter Daniels Head of FM Evaluation, Barnett Waddingham

Displaying their commitment to remaining a leading voice in the FM Evaluation space, the fourth edition of our Fiduciary Management Investment Performance Review is now available. The report explores how FMs have performed amidst the continued volatility and aftermath of the 2022 gilt crisis.
