Funeral plan providers and trusts
Actuarial services and investment consultancy for the funeral plan industry
We advise providers/trusts ranging from less than £1m to over £1bn.
The team is led by Graeme Muir FFA, who has been providing actuarial advice to funeral plan providers and their trusts for over 25 years. He is recognised and respected as an expert within the funeral plan sector and is chair of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries Funeral Plan Working Group.
Supporting Graeme is Colin Dobbie FFA who has significant experience producing actuarial valuation reports for various funeral plan providers and their trusts.
As well as doing the necessary calculations and producing actuarial valuation reports, we have provided ad-hoc advice on a wide range of issues. In particular we have been assisting our clients on the future regulation of providers by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA). We have also helped clients with pricing new products.
A major benefit of receiving your actuarial services from Barnett Waddingham is that we are able to draw on expertise from our other practice areas from around the firm. For example, our investment team, led by Rod Goodyer FIA, provides advice on setting investment strategy, selecting investment managers and reporting on investment performance. Rod and his team provide investment advice to one of the biggest pre-paid funeral plan trusts in the industry. Our longevity team have also contributed in producing bespoke funeral plan specific mortality tables.
As experienced actuaries advising a number of funeral plan trusts we are well placed to deliver the best high-quality, timely and efficient service to you. Please get in touch with Graeme Muir or Colin Dobbie if you are interested in Barnett Waddingham providing actuarial services or indeed if you’d just like a chat about anything in the industry.
