Rod Goodyer FIA


Rod is the investment team’s strategy specialist; he is responsible for the research and development of investment strategies for defined benefit (DB) pension schemes. He provides investment advice to trustees and employers on small to large pension schemes.

Rod has experience of a wide range of investment consultancy work including strategy reviews, investment manager selection, liability hedging, long-term investment de-risking and insurance transactions. He works with a range of trustees and employers, defining their long-term investment objectives and strategies.  

Rod’s objective-focused approach allows him to develop pragmatic strategies across his client base bespoke to their own investment beliefs and needs.

Significant experience:

  • investment strategy review work for various clients including the implementation of de-risking frameworks
  • design and implementation of LDI strategies
  • manager selection, monitoring and review
  • investment aspects of buy-in transactions including design of an asset strategy
  • advising employers of the investment aspects of their pension arrangements

Other expertise:

Rod advises a large funeral trust on their ongoing investment strategy and has also been involved in supporting with investment aspects of expert witness work. He is responsible for the research and development of investment strategy for DB pension schemes.
