Our Risk and Resilience Team’s partnership with Dementia UK, the national charity providing specialist dementia nursing support, has been recognised with the ‘Strategy through Partnership’ award at the CIR Magazine Business Continuity Awards 2025.
Celebrating achievements across business continuity, security and resilience, the CIR Business Continuity Awards are the mark of excellence.
The award win highlights the project undertaken to help Dementia UK address critical vulnerabilities in their business continuity and crisis management capabilities. Like most organisations in the charity sector, Dementia UK recognised the need to enhanced their preparedness to crises arising from growing IT and data security risks and potential physical infrastructure disruptions.
Our collaborative approach aimed to design and implement a robust business continuity management framework whilst fostering a culture of resilience throughout the organisation to safeguard their essential services.
The strategy we implemented involved developing tailored business continuity plans addressing the charity's highest priority risks, delivering training for their Crisis Management Team, and creating governance structures with Board-level commitment to ongoing resilience planning. Through interactive workshops, risk assessments, and an innovative IT outage simulation exercise, we were able to increase Dementia UK’s confidence in their ability to manage a crisis.
Speaking on the win, Partner and Head of Risk and Resilience Services Harshil Shah said: “We are honoured to receive this award alongside Dementia UK.”
"Our collaboration has helped to embed resilience across the organisation, which is especially important given the vital services they offer for families affected by dementia. I must thank both our Risk and Resilience Team and the dedicated colleagues at Dementia UK who embraced this journey with enthusiasm and proved that when organisations work together on a clear set of goals, exceptional outcomes become achievable."
Director of Finance and Corporate Services at Dementia UK Suruchi Saraf added: "We’re thrilled to have won the Strategy through Partnership award which celebrates our partnership with Barnett Waddingham and the great collaboration between our two teams."
"We have a much more robust and clear approach to resilience, thanks to the enhancements to our business continuity and crisis management capabilities. I would like to thank everyone involved who wholeheartedly deserves this recognition - our combined efforts have made us much more prepared to face the challenges ahead."
