Tim is an actuary with over 20 years’ experience. He provides tailored advice to trustees and employers on a range of pension issues, from valuations and accounting disclosures to individual benefit comparisons, costings and projections.

As well as this, Tim has worked with schemes ranging in size from £10m to over £1bn. In recent years this has included a focus on the higher and further education sectors, in particular working with universities and independent schools to develop their responses to the pension issues they face.

Significant experience:

  • Actuarial advice to trust-based final salary schemes
  • Working with independent schools to consider their response to changes in the Teachers’ Pension Scheme
  • Advice on individual member benefits under a range of industry-wide schemes
  • Developing Barnett Waddingham’s annual survey of University accounting disclosures

Career

Tim graduated from the University of Bristol with a degree in Physics and qualified as a Fellow of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries in 2004.

He joined Barnett Waddingham in 2018, having worked for many years at two major actuarial consultancies as well as a spell with a multinational insurance company.

Tim became an Associate at Barnett Waddingham in June 2020.
