Olga is a member of the investment research team. In her role as the Head of Fixed Income Research she is responsible for client specific and thematic research at Barnett Waddingham.

Olga specialises in public fixed income asset classes. She conducts manager and fund research to identify the best matches for BW clients’ specific requirements.

She works with consultants to help differentiate the fixed income sub-asset classes, fund structures and manager investment strategies to better aid clients’ investment allocations.

Significant experience:

  • £1bn investment trust selection exercises for multi asset credit and structured credit.
  • Active fixed income shortlist assessment for one of the UK’s largest workplace pension schemes.
  • Many other shortlist searches for DB pension schemes, charities and endowments.
  • Design and delivery of asset class training on structured credit and multi asset credit for an investment trust, an independent trustee and a pension scheme.
  • Attendance of fixed income manager selection meetings with clients.
  • Client representation on a Limited Partner Advisory Committee.
  • Thematic research on sustainable buy and maintain credit, multi asset credit funds and the role of fixed income in client-specific BW solutions.
  • c.130 fixed income manager meetings per year.

Other experience:

  • Direct involvement in risk structuring and completion of three £1bn+ receivable securitisation deals.
  • Risk management of discretionary treasury investment portfolios in excess of £3bn.
  • Bespoke risk monitoring for a £800m leveraged loan warehouse portfolio.

Career

Olga started her career in Nationwide Building Society, where she was responsible for portfolio management and later on risk management of structured credit investments.

Olga subsequently worked in a risk management role in Rabobank London for five years, where she partnered with origination teams on bespoke structured corporate lending and risk managed Rabobank’s discretionary structured credit investment portfolio. She joined BW in 2023 after a break from the industry to focus on her family.

Olga holds an MSc in Development Economics from The University of Manchester.

Interests

Olga is most often found running her favourite urban and trail routes, and is always on the lookout for her next race. She balances her love of running with indulging in home-baked treats and watching stand-up comedy. A lifelong learner, she has a habit she can’t shake – signing up for new study courses.
