Nick advises a range of UK businesses on DB pension issues including risk reduction exercises, scheme funding, pension benefit design and accounting disclosures. He also acts as Scheme Actuary to a number of clients.

Nick has developed particular expertise on PPF levy issues and has helped many businesses to significantly reduce their levy costs through improvements in their assessed insolvency rating and other options available to them.

His extensive experience, clear advice and proactive approach have helped him to become a trusted consultant to a wide range of UK and multi-national businesses.


Significant experience:

  • advice to UK and multi-national clients with combined liabilities of over £7 billion on their pension and post-retirement medical plan accounting disclosures
  • reduced the PPF levies for his clients by over £20 million through a variety of improvements to their insolvency risk rating
  • advice to the Pension Protection Fund on the transition to the new bespoke insolvency risk model
  • provided advice on bulk annuity transactions ranging from £3 million to £150 million
