Mark Paxton

Since joining Barnett Waddingham in 2001, Mark has become a specialist on advising pension schemes and employers on buy-outs and buy-ins.  He also advises defined benefit (DB) scheme trustees on pension scheme issues.

Mark has particular experience in project-managing buy-out and buy-in transactions, seeing these through to completion.  He also researches the bulk annuity market, meeting the insurers regularly and producing external updates for clients.

His clients range from small pension schemes to ones of several £100m.  He has advised both trustees and employers on bulk annuity issues.

Significant experience:

• project management of buy-outs seeing them through to scheme wind-up
• project management of buy-ins including analysis of how the buy-in fits in with the scheme’s overall strategy
• provision of overviews of the bulk annuity market enabling trustees and employers to identify their optimal strategy
