Emily is Head of SIPP Risk at Barnett Waddingham. She plays a central role in leading the first-line of defence risk mitigation and shaping the risk framework for our SIPP services, ensuring strategic objectives and regulatory obligations are met.
Emily is a specialist in pensions and investment platform compliance, with a strong focus on regulatory risk and supporting businesses through strategic change.
Significant experience
Emily's experience includes providing risk oversight for the development of new direct-to-consumer (D2C) pension and investment products, alongside ongoing product governance. She has led responses to key regulatory changes, such as the abolition of the Lifetime Allowance (LTA), default fund requirements, and evolving enviromental, social and governance (ESG) regulations.
She has also had oversight of risk associated with platform migration, acquisition activities, and outsourced arrangements and remediation projects. In addition, she's been responsible for broader risk and compliance oversight and monitoring across the business.
During her time at Embark Group, she played a key role in shaping the risk and compliance function, where she led teams through regulatory change, strategic transformation and integration following Embark’s acquisition by Lloyds Banking Group in 2021.
Emily has a particular interest in ESG and is passionate about supporting BW in navigating emerging requirements, while ensuring customers are equipped with the information they need to make informed decisions.
