David Simpson PhD FIA

Principal and Senior Consulting Actuary

David advises trustees and sponsors of defined benefit pension schemes on a range of actuarial issues. David also works to support schemes moving through the PPF assessment process.

David provides Scheme Actuary advice to Trustees of ongoing schemes. He also works within the PPF services team, providing advice to schemes throughout the PPF assessment period and beyond for schemes that ultimately wind-up outside of the PPF.

David has particular expertise in advising schemes through the technically demanding challenges of “PPF+” wind-up, including advising on individual allocation of asset shares, the actuarial impact of PPF specific legal rulings, and advising on top-ups to historic CETVs to reflect the impact of GMP equalisation.

David is also a member of the firm's Pensions Actuarial Technical Committee which carries out research and provides technical support across the firm.
