Daniel Johns BSc FIA CERA

Daniel has over 20 years’ experience as an actuary in the life insurance industry. Throughout his career, he has developed particular expertise in with-profits, financial reporting and risk management.

Prior to joining Barnett Waddingham, Daniel held a number of senior actuarial positions at Prudential across Finance, Actuarial and Risk. Most recently, he was Actuarial Director of the UK insurance business with responsibility for with-profits management, capital management, development of the Internal Model and recommending actuarial methodology and assumptions.

Significant experience:

• Significant experience of insurance business transfers, including supporting and drafting reports on behalf of the Independent Expert or the Chief Actuary of the transferring company..
• Developing the risk appetite and financial management framework for a large with-profits fund.
• Recommending actuarial methodology and assumptions to the Board, including longevity, persistency and expenses.
