Carla Hammond

As Chief Financial Officer for Barnett Waddingham and Howden Health & Employee Benefits, Carla leads financial strategy, governance and performance across the combined UK employee benefits business. Alongside this, she also provides financial oversight for HEB’s global operations, supporting Howden’s growing international EB footprint.

Working across both BW and HEB, she partners closely with leadership teams to ensure finance is a strategic driver – balancing commercial ambition with disciplined control as the business evolves and grows.

Carla plays a key role in building a scalable, best-in-class employee benefits business. She focuses on ensuring financial insight underpins strategic decisions, strengthening oversight across markets, and enabling sustainable, client-focused growth.

Significant experience:

• Leading country-level finance for a global real estate and professional services firm, with responsibility for financial performance and governance as a member of the UK Board.
• Reshaping finance teams and operating models to improve business partnering, leverage shared service centres and deliver significant cost efficiencies.
• Supporting M&A and integration activity, including financial due diligence, operating model design and post-deal performance management.
• Strengthening financial control, risk management, financial planning and analysis, and finance business partnering.
• Leading and developing high-performing finance teams across the UK, US and EMEA.
