Associate and IT Operations Team Leader

Alan leads the IT Operations Team which is responsible for designing and maintaining the company’s IT infrastructure. They ensure the security of company data by implementing backup, disaster recovery, and IT security processes.

The team also works with the Software development teams with deploying software out to the company. Additionally, they provide third line support for IT Support issues.

Alan's main area of expertise includes managing datacentre systems, backup and disaster recovery procedures, Windows Server infrastructure, SQL, SharePoint, Cloud services including Azure and Microsoft365.

  • VMWare and Hyper-V
  • IIS Web Server management
  • Exchange server and Mimecast Email management

Career

Alan graduated from King’s College London with a Maths degree in 2003. He started his career in IT in 2004, working for companies in Telecoms and Financial Services.

He was a Senior Technical Support Engineer and Team Lead at a Software house before joining Barnett Waddingham in 2011.
 

Interest

Outside of work, Alan enjoys cooking, playing games and enjoying music with his children.
