Defined contribution: improving outcomes for members

The Pensions Regulator is increasing regulations and governance requirements around DC schemes in order to improve their outcomes.

The aim is to empower trustees by releasing information into the public domain, making the information accessible not just to its members but anyone that wants to see it. Enabling the opportunity for trustees to evaluate whether their scheme stacks up well against all the other schemes in the market. 

Trustees do have access to guidance through specialist communication companies, governance consultants and the GEM tool. The purpose of this is to benefit its members by catering to every situation differently for a successful and tailored outcome.
