Longevity outlook for LGPS

In 2022, we carried out mortality analyses for seventeen English LGPS funds. What lessons can we learn from these exercises?

These are the first analyses we have carried out post-pandemic, allowing us to see the impact Covid-19 had on motality assumptions for the LGPS. 

Alongside looking at the pandemic, we explore:

• socio-economic factors;
• the latest population mortality data;
• the latest CMI mortality projections model;
• what's new for pension scheme mortality tables; and
• what all of this means for LGPS professionals going forward.
