Partner and Head of Pension Administration

Paul is Head of our Pension Administration service. This includes chairing the firm’s Pension Administration Board, which is responsible for setting strategy within the pension administration business.

Paul’s role as Head of Pension Administration means that he is involved in all aspects of the delivery of Barnett Waddingham’s trust based pension administration service. This includes defined benefit (DB), defined contribution (DC), cash balance, CARE, schemes going into the Pension Protection Fund (PPF), and our Pension Management services.

He is responsible for the delivery of our pension administration service to some 400 trust based clients covering 400,000 members. Our clients range from schemes with a handful of members up to 40,000 and are administered from all nine of our Pensions Administration Standards Association (PASA) accredited UK offices.

Paul also oversees several of our in-house digital pensions technologies for scheme members and clients, including our online pensions services and Insight, our online trustee dashboard

Significant experience:

  • overseen the development of our pension administration systems since the practice area started in 1993
  • leads the new business implementation team
  • responsible for our pension accounting service
  • is a CF10a which means he has FCA confirmation to perform controlled functions under the approved persons regime in respect of our pooled banking arrangement available to our pension scheme clients
