Megan Lashmar ACCA MAAT

Megan leads BW's management accounts team and oversees the month end general ledger processes.

This includes preparation of monthly financial reports and reporting to senior business leaders.  

She is also responsible for our quarterly VAT tax returns to HMRC and preparing regulatory reporting to external bodies. 

Megan is the primary liaison with our external auditors, and works with them for the annual audit, as well as reviews throughout the year to ensure that BW are working within the latest accounting standards. 

Significant experience

• Supporting Barnett Waddingham through accounting system migration and leading process development for key areas. 
• Working as part of the project team to deliver BW Ask for the finance department. 
• Taking over leadership of the management accounts team and building out to expand the team’s function and expertise. This included expanding the apprenticeship scheme into finance in 2024.
• Reviewing and implementing upcoming changes to UK Generally Accepted Accounting Principles into the business’s processes.

Other experience

Outside of BW, Megan implemented regulatory changes within business processes across international jurisdictions, and created complex consolidated accounts for international entities and subsidiaries.
