The LGPS McCloud consultation

The Government has issued the eagerly anticipated consultations to remedy the age discrimination cases, known as McCloud and Sargeant, which came about as a result of the transitional protections adopted as part of the public service pension scheme reforms in 2014 and 2015.

This briefing note summarises the LGPS (England and Wales) consultation and considers the impact on funding, administration, accounting and other related issues. The full consultation is here. Scotland and Northern Ireland are to be dealt with separately.
