DB to DC transfers: considering all options

Published by Jane Ralph on

Transfers from DB to DC pension schemes continues to be a hot topic. DB pension scheme profiles are changing and more members are at the point of thinking about their retirement options. The Freedom and choice for members in DC schemes means there are potentially more options to explore.

Trustees go to great lengths to secure enough funds to provide their members’ benefits for retirement. It is appropriate that they are wary that members don’t, through ignorance or design, end up without access to a good retirement income.

By making members fully aware of, and educating them about, the alternatives available trustees may be confident that they have provided members with the best possible start to retired life and have avoided any reputational risk.
