Are you being targeted for investment fraud?

Published by Andrew Roberts on

Had a cold call about a bamboo fund, or a text message about investing in carbon credits? Then you may be being targeted for investment fraud.

As well as the rule of 'if it sounds too good to be true, then it probably is', you could use a new website put together by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) to discover whether an investment opportunity that has just been pushed your way is in fact a scam.

For more information visit the FCA's website and use their interactive warning list.

Remember, a promise of high guaranteed returns in an unregulated fund may sound enticing, but affords little protection of your money if those promised returns don’t materialise.
