Workplace health and Wealth (WHW) has grown considerably and is one of eleven practice areas within the firm. WHW provides ongoing consultancy services to over 200 clients.  The Platform and Engagement team sits within WHW, and is responsible for Me2, our online employee engagement platform and all employee communications that we provide for our clients.  The team also provides support to the rest of Barnett Waddingham for all member facing communications and engagement.

The team has a working collaboration with Studio Blup under the name of Drumroll, our specialist creative and design agency, helping to deliver our communications services.

The role of the Senior Employee Engagement Consultant/Account Director will be to lead on the development of Drumroll and to act as project lead around the design and delivery of employee communication strategies, including management of the roll out to clients, and ongoing account management. 

 To succeed in the role the perfect combination of thinking and doing is required. You will demonstrate great project management skills, working with the internal teams to ensure projects are kept on time and on budget. Always exceeding client expectations, never under delivering.

A focus on results and return on investment is key to help define the Drumroll difference, not only showcasing them to clients but also using learnings to maximise future campaigns.


This role will report in to the Head of Platform and Engagement.


  • Development of Drumroll brand and marketing strategy
  • Participation in new business (tenders, pitches etc) to grow the business and revenue
  • Increasing margin on existing clients
  • Proposition/service development
  • Financial monitoring and delivery of team budget
  • Act as lead consultant/Account manager to ensure quality service delivered to clients in agreed timescales and budget
  • Full compliance with regulatory guidelines and agreed procedures
  • Build strong relationships both externally and internally
  • Line management for some team members
  • Communicate pension and ther employee benefits content to members (through clear and simple written copy, creative thinking and effective delivery)
  • Demonstrate project management experience and the ability to build relationships with clients, understanding their needs and environment
  • Analyse campaign results and showcase return on investment

Experience and Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a similar role either from within a benefits consultancy, communications firm or a creative/design agency (preferred)
  • Previous experience of employee benefits and total reward is desirable but not essential
  • Good academic record including Maths & English to GCSE (minimum grade C)
  • Experience of creating high impact and concise content and design
