Essex County Council appoints Barnett Waddingham to advise on its pension scheme

Essex County Council has appointed Barnett Waddingham, the UK’s largest independent firm of actuaries and consultants, to advise on its pension scheme.

Essex County Council administers a pension fund for staff employed by all the councils in Essex. The pension scheme has an active membership of 43,728 and the fund was valued at £3.1 billion as of March 2010.

Graeme Muir, head of Public Sector Practice at Barnett Waddingham said:  "Our appointment as actuaries to the Essex County Council Fund is a fantastic opportunity for the team. We look forward to working with them and assisting with the many challenges that lie ahead".
