Barnett Waddingham announces pension accounting seminars for December 2010

Barnett Waddingham, the UK’s leading independent firm of actuaries and consultants, has announced a series of free nationwide seminars to be held in December 2010.

The changing market conditions of 2010 will be reviewed and how this will impact on the pension’s disclosure within attendees’ accounts.

With 31 December 2010 fast approaching, the seminar will examine how the assumptions underlying a company’s FRS17 or IAS19 disclosures will look at the year end  and the sensitivity of the results to changes in those assumptions.

The seminar will also cover some of the results from Barnett Waddingham’s FTSE250 Pensions Survey which considers the impact pensions schemes are having on company finances.

Nick Griggs, Partner, commented: “The pension scheme has become an important issue for many finance directors. The pensions disclosure is an area of considerable volatility that needs to be considered very carefully. Our seminars are designed to give those involved in preparing company accounts practical advice on their pensions disclosure.
“At these nationwide events, Barnett Waddingham’s accountancy specialists will be on hand to offer guidance and engage delegates in discussion of the key issues they will face.”
