The Pension Regulator to talk at September seminars

Barnett Waddingham, the UK’s leading independent firm of actuaries and consultants, has announced a series of nationwide seminars to be held in September 2010. The seminars will be of particular interest to Corporates, focusing on the recent activity of the Pensions Regulator.

The seminars will look at the recent announcements from the Pensions Regulator, and how these will affect employers sponsoring pension schemes and will also consider other topical issues, including the proposal to link pension increases to the Consumer Price Index rather than the Retail Price Index.

A speaker from the Pensions Regulator will be presenting at the Birmingham, Leeds and London sessions providing an ideal opportunity to get updated on the Regulator’s current view points.

Nick Griggs, Head of Corporate Consulting, commented: “The Pensions Regulator has been particularly active recently and it is important for corporates to consider how recent announcements and proposals could impact their businesses.

“The presence of a speaker from the Pensions Regulator at the majority of the seminars will provide further clarification and allow for attendees to get their questions answered.”

Seminars will take place across the country as follows:

- Manchester - Tuesday 14 th September, 8.45am start

- Birmingham -  Wednesday 15 th September, 8.45am start
