Exam Successes - Summer 2005

A report on recent achievements by Barnett Waddingham LLP staff in the actuarial profession and pension administration examinations.

This winter's actuarial profession examination results provided several reasons for celebration.

There was one qualification as Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries with Ben Roach from our Cheltenham office earning his certificate.

A number of people obtained their diploma in actuarial techniques; Vivienne Sharples in London, Paul Moffatt in Leeds, Ben Harris in Cheltenham and Clemency Lomas, Ben Pullen and David Noel in Amersham. A large number of other actuarial candidates were successful in passing particular papers on their path towards qualification.

The Pensions Management Institute exams also proved to be a source of success for Barnett Waddingham with 8 passes and 1 qualifier to report: Joanne Linley of our Leeds office executive benefits team is now an Associate of the Pensions Management Institute (APMI). Andy Greig of our Cheltenham office pensions administration and management team received the South West Regional Prize for his performance in the exams.

Our strong track record in the Qualification in Pensions Administration exams run by the Pensions Management Institute  continues, with a total of 15 passes to report from the most recent exams.

Finally, we are also delighted that Carole Ward of our Cheltenham pensions administration and management team and Trevor Harvey from our Amersham office executive benefits team have been invited to become Fellows of the Pensions Management Institute from September 2005. Fellowship is the highest grade of membership of the Pensions Management Institute; it is only available to Associates of the Institute who have been qualified for at least five years, and recognises their additional experience and standing in the profession.
