Cheltenhams Champagne Reception
To mark their move, the Cheltenham office held a cocktail party for their staff and clients.
A little over four months ago we said goodbye to the old office in Cheltenham and took up residence at St James's House. Cheltenham's 50 staff had outgrown the previous offices and St James's House offers smarter premises with scope for further expansion. To mark the occasion staff and clients were invited to a champagne reception at the new offices and over 150 people attended, including Partners and Associates from the Leeds, Amersham and London offices, contacts from Remploy and Zurich Financial Services, two of Cheltenham's original clients, and many of our newer clients and business associates.
The entertainment for the evening came in the form of a human statue dressed, or painted to be precise, from top to toe as a butler. The jury is still out as to whether he complied with Barnett Waddingham's dress code "Employees should refrain from wearing clothing, which is excessively revealing and likely to be deemed inappropriate for the working environment by any reasonable standard". Although it could be argued that this does not apply to agency workers and applying the 'pro-rata' principle and recognising that the butler only worked for an hour, he may just have complied.
Ian Ferguson thanked staff, clients and friends for making the Cheltenham office a success and helping it grow to its current size. Ian also thanked the Barnett Waddingham partners of 1995 for their vision in getting the Cheltenham office off the ground, the Cheltenham staff for their industry and commitment and, most of all, to our clients, for the support and professional comradeship they have shown us.
The reception was well received and made the Social Scene pages of "Gloucestershire Today".
