Barnett Waddingham Christmas Party 2001
After several years at Chelsea FC, Barnett Waddingham's Christmas Party this year made a big-money transfer across the West End to... no, not cash-flush Fulham FC, but rather the Thistle Hotel at Marble Arch.
This year's party, bringing together partners and staff from all of Barnett Waddingham's offices, contained all of the traditional elements of the firm's end of year celebration, except that the "entertainments" section of the afternoon - usually featuring a range of singing and acting performances from willing and non-willing participants alike - was restricted to one item per office, as in recent years the burgeoning desire of normally mild-mannered actuarial folk and pensions administrators to break into song on this one day of the year has threatened to turn into a six-hour dance spectacular.
As many of the photos will testify, however, creative energies were expended on the dancefloor, where Barnett Waddingham's "Pop Idols" came into their own. Here's looking forward to next year!
