Historic SSAS, SIPPs and FURBS Seminar
For many years, Barnett Waddingham's small schemes team have run seminars, concentrating specifically on SSAS, SIPPs and FURBS. The main talking point of 2003 for these schemes has been the Inland Revenue's proposal to simplify pension schemes' taxation. This was therefore the topic for the 2004 seminars.
The Treasury had published its initial consultation paper in December 2002, and following a substantial response from pension providers, a second review paper was published. The review was radical, and would affect many important areas of pension planning when the new regime was introduced in April 2005. In our seminars, members of our small schemes team explained what simplification was going to mean in practice.
