ISC Myners guidelines

The Institutional Shareholders Committee (ISC) is made of the National Association of Pension Funds (NAPF), the Association of British Insurers (ABI), The Association of Investment Trust Companies (AITC) and the Investment Management Association (IMA).

Together they issue guidelines for institutional investors as to their responsibilities as shareholders. They have recently reissued their statement of guidelines to take account of Myners recommendations, focussing on shareholder activism in particular. The ISC recommends an "exchange of letters" between investors and their investment managers to acknowledge the guidelines.

The guidelines can be found on the NAPF website: http://www.napf.co.uk

Hard copies can also be ordered from the NAPF.

If you would like to discuss the ISC guidelines please speak to your usual Barnett Waddingham consultant.
