Barnett Waddingham Cocktail Party 2001
Continuing the theme of the beaux arts following
last year's visit to the Guildhall Art Gallery, Barnett Waddingham's twelfth annual cocktail party took place on Monday 18 June 2001 at the National Portrait Gallery.
Famous names and faces from the world of pensions mingled with (less?) famous faces from the oeuvre of a wide range of contemporary artists, moving away from the Guildhall's repository of old masters was supplanted by the NPG's 20th century pantheon.
As usual, there were queues well before the door opened, and the healthy turnout only served to make it harder to distinguish between the exhibits and the beautiful people on display.
Among the Dianas, Bobby Charltons and Bransons, Huw Wynne-Griffith thanked everybody for helping to celebrate another year of Barnett Waddingham.
In keeping with tradition, a good number of revellers continued the festivities in an adjacent hostelry.
