Barnett Waddingham 10th Birthday: office celebrations
The London, Amersham and Luxembourg offices held a joint celebration on a river boat on the Thames while the Leeds office continued the nautical theme with a barge trip on the Leeds and Liverpool canal. The Cheltenham office, on the other hand, held its party on dry land - at least it was dry until it started raining!
Each party did, however, have a common theme - a few words from one of Barnett Waddingham's original partners, a few drinks, the obligatory birthday cake, a few more drinks and general partying long into the evening.
It is perhaps worth mentioning that the Leeds office began their celebrations with a glass of Pimms although partner Mark Underwood was heard to remark "I don't think much of the beer round here!"
Adrian Waddingham is seen here cutting the cake at the Cheltenham party and on the Home page was seen joining in a life size game of table football. The picture shows Adrian crashing the ball home from 2 yards out. (The goalkeeper is aged 10). Adrian has dismissed talk of a £25 million transfer to Preston North End as "mere speculation".
Another attraction at the Cheltenham party was the "bucking bull" (a bovine variation on the bucking bronco theme). Cheltenham partner, Mark Howard, is seen here trying to beat the 20 second record for staying on. (Mark is the one without the horns!)
