Traded Endowments

The owners of with-profit endowment contracts who would otherwise surrender their policies to the insurance company can often obtain a better price for unwanted policies by selling them to another investor via the Traded Endowment Policy (TEP) market.
The market has existed for over 150 years but has grown significantly in recent years. Many of the policies are held in large portfolios on behalf of collective investment vehicles, including many attracting overseas investors.
