Independent Trusteeship
Running a pension scheme is a huge responsibility that often requires trustees to make complex decisions against an ever changing legislative background. This can be a major task, particularly when dealing with pension funds that are as big as, or bigger than, the sponsoring employer. Furthermore, the Pensions Regulator is raising the profile of conflict issues and these need to be addressed with the sponsoring employer.
Garvin Trustees, part of Barnett Waddingham LLP, can act as the chairman of boards of trustees in order to achieve the objectives of the trustee board, or act as an independent trustee alongside other trustees to complement and support other trustees. We will not become involved in any scheme where our involvement might be perceived to jeopardise our independence.
