Small Schemes
Background
Barnett Waddingham has been closely involved with the development of self-administered pension schemes since 1988. Small Self-Administered Schemes (SSASs) have allowed family companies to run their own pension scheme and there are now more than 30,000 schemes in existence. Since 1991 Self-Invested Personal Pensions (SIPPs) have been popular. Self-administered schemes are flexible and have become a popular alternative to insured pension schemes.
