Tony Leandro FIA ASA

Tony graduated from Reading University with a degree in mathematics in 1972 and started his actuarial career at Rodney Barnett & Company. Eight years later be became a partner in that firm. He became a founding partner of Barnett Waddingham in 1989 and year later became a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries.

Tony works in the firm's lInsurance Consulting Practice from the London office. Tony took up his first appointed actuary role in 1990 has 18 years experience of advising insurance companies at that level. He is currently an Actuarial Function Holder for a UK life company and performs a similar role for two overseas life companies and also acts as a Reviewing Actuary. Tony has had recent experience in a number of expert witness cases to do with life assurance. He has also played a leading role in the Actuarial Profession's awakening to developments in longevity during the 1990s and early 2000s.

Tony has written many papers and articles for the actuarial profession, has spoken at many actuarial conferences and has appeared on radio and television.
