Steve Hitchiner FIA
Steve graduated from Southampton University with a degree in Mathematics with Actuarial Studies in 1999 and qualified as a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries in 2003.
Steve joined Barnett Waddingham in 2003, having previously worked for Hewitt Associates, and was made a partner in 2010.
Steve is a member of Barnett Waddingham's London office where he provides concise and pragmatic advice to both companies and trustees in relation to their pension schemes. As well as being the appointed Scheme Actuary for a number of clients, he has particular experience of project work including corporate transactions, scheme mergers, risk-reduction exercises, contingent assets and other alternative funding arrangements.
Steve is the current chairman of the firm's Pensions Actuarial Technical Committee, which carries out research and provides technical support across the firm. He is actively involved in the development of pensions legislation and regulation within the UK, which has included the following:
Outside of work Steve enjoys cooking, growing vegetables, playing the drums and spending time with his young sons Henry and Albie.
