Rajeev Shah FIA


Rajeev graduated from the London School of Economics with a BSc in Actuarial Science in 1993 and qualified as a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries in 1998.  Rajeev has held a Life Actuary (including with-profits) Practising Certificate since 2004 when they were introduced.

Rajeev joined Barnett Waddingham in 2000 and became a partner in 2004.  He has a wide range of experience in the financial management of life offices and forensic actuarial work and currently holds Appropriate Actuary and Reviewing Actuary roles.  He also has considerable experience in longevity risks with particular expertise in modelling future mortality improvements having been actively involved in the CMI’s work in developing and testing mortality projection models.  

Prior to joining Barnett Waddingham he had worked for Prudential in a variety of roles including product development, valuation and financial analysis and in project management.  He has also taught actuarial science, part-time, at the London School of Economics.

ajeev has served on several committees and working parties of the actuarial profession and was a co-author of 'The Chronic Disease Burden', presented to the Staple Inn Actuarial Society in October 2005.  He is currently Secretary of the CMI Life Office Mortality Committee.  He has previously been Secretary to the CMI Critical Illness and Income Protection Committees.
