Neil Robjohns FIA


Neil graduated from Exeter College, Oxford in 1984 with a first class degree in mathematics and qualified as a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries in 1989.

Neil joined Barnett Waddingham in February 2008, having developed an expertise in the field of mortality and morbidity risks during the 17 years he spent working for Munich Re and Zurich Life, and having begun his career at Lloyds Life (later renamed Royal Heritage Life). 

Neil works as a consultant in the Longevity Consulting team where he specialises in mortality and morbidity, including research and applications in life and health protection business and in the longevity risk market.

Over the last 15 years, Neil has been actively engaged in the actuarial profession’s work on Critical Illness and mortality, as a member or chair of several committees and working parties.  He is a co-author of ‘Longevity in the 21st century’ (presented to the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries, 2004), ‘A Critical Review’ (presented to the Staple Inn Actuarial Society, Mar 2000) and ‘Exploring the Critical Path’ (SIAS, Dec 2006), and has been a frequent speaker at actuarial profession conferences and seminars.  He is currently secretary of the CMI Income Protection and Technical Committees and a member of the CMI Critical Illness Committee.
