Martin Hooper FIA

Martin graduated from Nottingham University in 2000 with a first class degree in mathematics. He has worked in pensions consultancy since graduating and qualified as a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries in 2005 before joining Barnett Waddingham in 2006.

Martin advises both sponsors and trustees of pension schemes and holds a Scheme Actuary certificate. He has experience of all areas of actuarial consultancy work including valuations, funding and investment strategy, benefit design, accounting for pension costs, member communications, wind ups and PPF assessment periods.

As well as his client responsibilities Martin has recently been involved in developing Barnett Waddingham’s services for corporate clients, including a standard system for generating accounting disclosures and integrating this with our accounting projections tool.  Martin also sits on the legislation committee of the Society of Pension Consultants, one of the main functions of which is to review and respond to government on proposed changes to pensions law.
