Mark Howard FIA

Mark graduated from Aston University with a BSc (Hons) degree in Managerial Studies and qualified as an actuary with Friends Provident in 1988. Soon after, he moved into pensions consultancy, where he has now built up over 20 years' experience.

Mark joined Barnett Waddingham in 1996 to help set up the Cheltenham office and became a partner in 1997. Since he joined, the Cheltenham office has grown in size from around 20 to 90 staff.

Mark advises a whole range of pension scheme clients from the very large to the very small. He has experience of advising a number of clients in the insurance sector, both on their own staff pension arrangements and also on out-sourcing of insured schemes. He is the Cheltenham office expert in the field of executive benefits and is currently the Chairman of the Association of Consulting Actuaries' Small Schemes Committee.

Away from work, Mark is a keen hill-walker, skier and ski-tourer (walking up mountains as well as ski-ing down!) For much of the year, he also spends a lot of time on his allotment.
