Julia Bassett FPMI APFS
Julia studied Business and Finance at the University of Plymouth before joining Noble Lownes to work in the pension administration department. She became an Associate of the Pensions Management Institute in 1994 and a Fellow in 2008. In 1997 she completed the exams to become an Associate of the Personal Finance Society.
Julia is based in our Cheltenham office and joined Barnett Waddingham in 1996 having previously worked in the employee benefits department at PricewaterhouseCoopers.
Julia became an Associate of the Firm in June 2001 and was responsible for the establishment of the BWSIPP which was launched in 1999 and its continuing development. In June 2009 she was appointed Chief Operating Officer of BW SIPP LLP and is now looking at the development of the BWSIPP over the next 10 years.
She is a regular speaker at our BW seminars for clients and their advisers and a past committee member of the SIPP Provider Group and Association of Member-nominated Pension Schemes (AMPS). On behalf of her role with AMPS she has worked with the Pensions Management Institute to develop a work based qualification for administrators of SSASs and SIPPS.
Outside of work Julia enjoys spending time with her family and organising their active social lives. She is a keen skier and is learning to play the piano when time permits.
