Graham Cooper FIA

Graham Cooper graduated from Gonville & Caius College Cambridge with first class honours in Mathematics in 1968 and qualified as a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries in 1973.

Following postgraduate work at Cambridge, Graham joined Lane Clark & Peacock in January 1971 and became a partner in 1976, mainly working in corporate pensions, but also assisting in advising one of the firm’s smaller life insurance clients.  In 1980, he joined Willis Faber on their pension advisory side.  In 1984 he moved to Bain Dawes & Partners Ltd, before joining New Bridge Street Consultants to start up its pension and actuarial side in January 1986.  Whilst at New Bridge Street Consultants, Graham invented the name “FURBS” for funded unapproved retirement benefits schemes and also developed software and systems for valuing executive share options subject to performance conditions.  In 2008, Graham joined Barnett Waddingham as a Consultant.
