Danny Wilding
Danny Wilding FIA
Danny graduated from Churchill College, Cambridge in 1991 with a first-class degree in mathematics. He joined the pensions consultancy team in our London office in September 1991. He qualified as a Fellow of the
Institute of Actuaries
in 1997 and became a partner of Barnett Waddingham in 1999.
In his time with the firm Danny has taken responsibility for on-going client service of pension schemes both UK and international as well as a number of projects including setting up schemes, sales and purchases and winding-up schemes. His work encompasses all areas of consultancy, including research, investment strategy and pension scheme design as well as actuarial valuations.
Danny sat on the Management Board at Barnett Waddingham for several years. He is currently the Practice Area Leader for Trustee Consulting, and chairs the committee which oversees client service delivery and future development of this practice area.
Besides the UK, Danny's client work has taken him across Europe, as well as to Argentina, Bangladesh and Russia. He has been a regular speaker for the
National Association of Pension Funds
trustee training courses, and has spoken at conferences around Europe on subjects such as the Chilean Model, Liability-Driven Investment and Opting Out in the UK. Other talks and articles have included UK pensions reform, company accounting for pension costs and asset-liability modelling.
