Colin Mayger
Colin Mayger FIA
Colin graduated from Churchill College, Cambridge in 1986 with a degree in Natural Sciences, specialising in Geology, and qualified as a Fellow of the
Institute of Actuaries

Colin joined the London pensions team of Barnett Waddingham in 1990, having previously worked for Bacon & Woodrow.
Colin has held a scheme actuary certificate since 1996 and is currently appointed to that role by 15 schemes ranging in size from £250,000 to £250 million. His experience covers a wide range of types and sizes of scheme including Defined Benefit schemes which include a Defined Contribution section within the same trust as well as stand-alone Defined Contribution schemes (both trust-based and contract-based). Additionally, Colin acts as pensions adviser to a number of employers and to trustees of insured pension arrangements and also undertakes some strategic investment consultancy for smaller schemes.
Internally, he is a member of the firm’s Risk Management Committee and externally he has for many years lectured for the Actuarial Profession on the Professionalism Course that newly-qualified Actuaries must attend, speaking both as a pensions specialist and on the topic of financial services regulation.
