Adrian Waddingham FIA ASA


Adrian Waddingham graduated in 1971 with a BSc in Mathematics with Statistics from London University. He qualified as a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries in 1975.

On 1 June 1989, he became a founding partner of Barnett Waddingham following the merger of Rodney Barnett & Company with Waddingham & Company. Adrian became Senior Partner of Barnett Waddingham LLP in October 2005.

Adrian shares his time between the Amersham and London offices. He is a past Chairman of both the Association of Consulting Actuaries and the International Association of Consulting Actuaries and is Immediate Past Master of the Worshipful Company of Actuaries in the City of London. Adrian is a former Chairman of the West London branch of the National Association of Pension Funds and a past Chairman of the Association of Pensioneer Trustees.

Adrian has been closely involved with the development of self-administered pension arrangements for directors of private companies from 1975 onwards. He is a Scheme Actuary and currently has direct responsibility for advising medium sized and large corporate clients on all aspects of their employee pension arrangements.

Adrian lectures frequently to firms of accountants, for the Institute of Chartered Accountants, and other groups particularly on the taxation aspects of pension provision, and has appeared on both radio and television.

Away from the office Adrian enjoys skiing and plays poor golf. He has currently embarked on the restoration of a seventeenth century farmhouse in his native Lancashire.
